What do I do if my audience isn’t engaging or responding during the Live?

It’s totally normal to have quiet moments during a Live workshop. The key is to stay encouraging and create simple entry points for interaction. Here are a few strategies to help boost engagement:

  • Ask direct, easy-to-answer questions. Try something like, “Drop a ‘yes’ in the chat if this resonates with you” or “Type ‘ready’ if you’re with me so far.” These low-effort responses make it easy for people to jump in.
  • Use polls or multiple-choice options. These give your audience a clear way to participate without needing to type a full response.
  • Call people by name when you can. If someone does engage, thank them or respond to their comment directly. This can motivate others to join in too.

If you are not getting much response, don’t panic. Keep your energy high and stay positive. Your enthusiasm sets the tone. Even if the chat is quiet, people are still watching and learning. Your job is to lead with clarity and confidence.
